Get by with a little Help from my Friends

Somethings are just better with the support of friends.  It was no surprise that Ashleigh and Sarah were with me on Friday, they were two out of the three (my mom was the 3rd) that knew about this effort.  I got a text that morning, “So where is the launch taking place?!?!” And another phone call where an emotional me was told “no, everything is ok”.  Back and forth we planned and like clockwork Ash and Sarah were at my house.

The three of us and Macy girl jumped in the car and headed to the cemetery.  Hesitant how to enter the snowy entrance, Ash reassured me not to STOP, keep on going.  So, I did 😊 We were awkwardly uncertain I was on an actual path and not going to run into anyone’s headstone.  It was a quick cold visit; brushed some snow from the headstone said hello and a quicker goodbye.

We headed to sit for lunch, drinks, and the big launch.   We cozied up in a half moon booth, all attention on the computer reviewing the page and content I had created.  They both proofed the hell out of what I wrote.  Which sparked additional conversations, ideas, and a few updates.

Uh, I may need to have editor for this?!  I mean yesterday I didn’t even spell ground hog right, seriously?

I hit the publish key, and we were like school girls celebrating the biggest win “Your Site in Now Live!”.  I’m only certain the people in the restaurant were wondering what the hell was going on.  The three of us were linking up the site address to ensure we could get to the site and navigate through its simplicity on our phones and computer.  The loudness of excitement was far from over.

Although the site is live our largest debate is still open 😊 to use a comma or not?!  Sarah was adamant I use a comma after Me in my site title?!  Me, Jess Talkin’ or Me Jess Talkin’.  Throughout the day, Sarah would finagle the comma topic in a one liner.  The debate is still on, you’ll see I went with no comma.  “Jess” tell me what you think?!  Should I have a Comma??

None of us are savvy with social media, so we all were searching and stalking others’ sites to see how things were done.  Googling how-to questions, and better yet taking pictures to document our time.  It took us 10 tries to get what we thought was the best “cheers” picture; take 1: not centered, take 2: we didn’t capture one glass, take 3: we all didn’t cheers in the middle, take 4: my hand looked too big, and so on. Finally, a “Cheers” for the win!  What a daunting task to take accounts public.  The final moment, I hit share and my site and thoughts are out there.  There was this nervous exposed feeling of excitement and relief, and we celebrated!

Friday was a great day but being able to share it with my best friends made it the perfect day.  In future posts I can’t wait to share about my group of friends.  Their harmonizing personalities have impacted me as a person; they make me laugh even when I really don’t want to smile at times.  Life would be lonely and uneventful without good friends.  I appreciate the ability to uplift one another, while also balancing our differences, knowing we are not perfect, and sometimes disagree (comma or no comma).  One can only hope others have these unrestricted connections.

I’m blessed, and truly ‘Get by with a little help from my Friends’.
